The Bob Marley Destroyed Project "Dyeing Dresses and Tunics"
By Samsara - Friday, February 06, 2009
***Greetings and blessings to you on this special day when many celebrate the life of the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley.***
As Marley has influenced cultures, reggae music, and not limited to style and fashion. Marley has influenced our work from 04' when we began working with licensed deadstock tees. I hope you will enjoy this small collection as we enjoyed making it for you. It is very limited and handmade with love from love.
The mediums we worked with was Dyeing Techniques, some which included Discharging, Batik, Tie Dye, and Dip-dyeing. We plan in future to do more organic dyeing although the colors are not steadfast we appreciate the harmonious ways the colors fade.
We also used on each piece imported African Hand cut Voile Lace and Bazine Fabric from Ghana, we can really appreciate the contrast it gives, as these types of fabric is reserved for the wealthy and would never be used in this manner. We felt as Bob is royalty so should the people that wear our pieces feel. Keep it ROYAL!!
Because of the birthday festivities some pieces have sold before we could take the pics and slowed our blogging process down we apologies for any inconvenience and will upload a few more designs to blog tomorrow.
***Email us for price and shipping details concerning the mini collection. samsaraboutique@gmail.com
